To interact with your computer using your respective keyboards and mice at the same time—it’s even better than having the other person sitting next to you at your computer since you don’t have to share your keyboard and mouse! How It WorksTo share control of your screen with one of your viewers, you will need to have at least one person viewing your screen share. Once you have people viewing your screen, click on the mouse icon on the Screenleap console, select a viewer, and then select Share mouse/keyboard control.Your viewer will now be able to control your computer from their browser—they do not need to download or install any software. You and your viewer will have your own mouse cursor to control (your viewer’s mouse cursor will be green and will include the viewer’s name). Your viewer will be able to point things out on your screen using his/her mouse, scroll through documents using his/her scroll wheel, and interact with your screen by clicking with his/her mouse and typing on his/her keyboard. You can switch the viewer you are collaborating with by clicking on the mouse icon and selecting a new viewer. You can disable control sharing by clicking the mouse icon again and selecting Disable control sharing.PermissionsIf you are using a Mac computer, you will need to grant the Accessibility permission to the Screenleap app before you will be able to share control with your viewers. To grant the permission:Open your System Preferences.Click on Security & Privacy.Click on Accessibility.Check the box for the Screenleap app (you may need to click the lock icon and enter your password to allow for checking the boxes).LimitationsThe viewer sharing control of your computer will need to make sure the viewer page is the active window and the active tab. If another window is in front of the viewer window, then your viewer’s actions will not be passed to your computer.AvailabilityCollaborative screen sharing will take your online collaboration to the next level by allowing you to interact as effectively online as if you were in the same room together. Original thread is here: The new version for KSP 1.4.1 has new dependencies New Dependencies Click Through Blocker ToolbarController CKAN has been updated to install the dependencies, if needed The original author, Nifty255, had an ambiguous license reference, he listed two licenses which were contradictory. After consultation with Squad, I have decided to release this using the GPLv3, which is the original license listed. Last night I was able to set up a neat little program that I think you should all know about! Synergy allows you to set up two or more computers so that they all share one keyboard and one mouse. Even better it works cross platform (i.e. Windows and Linux can both share the same mouse and keyboard).SetupYou need to install synergy on all machines involved. I will only go over the Fedora instructions here. The first thing I did was do a quick yum search for synergy.yum search synergyThis spit back the following results:== Matched: synergy ==quicksynergy.x86_64 : Share keyboard and mouse between computerssynergy.x86_64 : Mouse and keyboard sharing utilitysynergy-plus.x86_64 : Mouse and keyboard sharing utilityAs you can see in the list above it appears as though the package synergy.x86_64 is the only one I really need so I went and installed it.sudo yum install synergyThis quickly finished but left me scratching my head. There was no application entry for synergy and not even a man page in the terminal. Looking back at the original search terms I figured synergy-plus must be additional features for the base synergy application and that maybe quicksynergy was some sort of automated or easier to use version of synergy. So I installed that.sudo yum install quicksynergyI then set up my synergy server, the computer that would be sharing it’s mouse and keyboard to the others, and defined where the monitors would go.As you can see I have set up my Fedora computer (XPS) to extend the monitor to the left of my Windows machineNext I jumped back over to my Fedora laptop and launched QuickSynergy. After a bit of tinkering I found out that the Share tab is if this computer is going to be the server and the Use tab is for a client. I tried entering the hostname in the text field but that wouldn’t work for whatever reason. It wasn’t until I entered the IP address of the server that things started working.QuickSynergy on FedoraAnd now for the pièce de résistance. Here is my desktop computing experience!3 monitors, 2 machines, 1 keyboard & mouse. Sorry for the poor picture quality.P.S.It’s not cheating to use a Windows machine. I needed it to do work. As far as I can tell the linux doesn’t have Visual Studio 2008 with VB.NET support… yet 😉 FedoraLinuxsynergywindowsKeyboard Sharing with multiple computers - Share Mouse
Hey there, Heres a post where I'd like to share my user experience with BetterTouchTool. This app lets you configure your Magic Mouse, keyboard, trackpad and more to your liking. I'm sure many of you know it, but for those who don't:From their Site:''BetterTouchTool is a great, feature packed FREE app that allows you to configure many gestures for your Magic Mouse, Macbook Trackpad and Magic Trackpad. It also allows you to configure actions for keyboard shortcuts, normal mice and the Apple Remote. In addition to this it has an iOS companion App (BTT Remote) which can also be configured to control your Mac the way you want.BetterTouchTool includes many goodies, like window snapping or an integrated window switcher.''Over the time, I have added more and more gestures which help me use my Mac in a unique way and fun way. I have become so accustomed to these gestures, using them has become very easy. I want to share my used shortcuts I've set within BetterTouchTool to show what the program can do and maybe help others simplify the usage of their Mac and configure it to their liking. And if other users wish, they can share their configurations.Apple Magic MouseFirst off, I want to show you my configurations for the Apple Magic Mouse. All these gestures are used in Safari (or any other browser) and can now also be used in Finder because Mavericks supports tabs in Finder. The gestures: Gesture #1Magic Mouse gesture: Single Finger Middle ClickAction: Middle clickExplanation: Because the Magic Mouse doesn't have a scroll wheel, which is used as a middle click button when pressed, I added this action. Pressing on the middle of the Magic Mouse once, acts as if I've pressed the scroll wheel. This action usually opens a link in Safari in another tab. But what is the middle of the mouse, you may wonder. BBT lets you configure what surface of the mouse you want to act as the ''middle''. See picture above. The orange area is the middle of the mouse, you can adjust the width of it how you like. The outer areas are then the left and right mouse buttons. The white circles are my fingers pressing on the mouse when I took the screenshot. BTT can detect the amount on pressure you apply on the mouse. This helps if you set it up to only respond to a high pressure when doing a swipe or something else, so you dont use the gestures by accident.Gesture #2 & 3Magic Mouse gesture: Two finger swipe left and rightAction: ⌘ ↑[ or ⌘ ↑]Explanation:These commands let you switch tabs in Safari or Finder. It’s a quick way to easily switch tabs left and right without having to click on them or using the keyboard shortcut. Since Apple added tabs in Mavericks, it also works there if you have a few open.I actually assigned a two finger tap to open new tabs in Finder (rather then pressing cmd T), but I haven’t been.
